DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Track & Field Athlete, Jose Chorro, and Blue Hawk Women's Basketball Player, Leslie Beaudoin, have been named DSU Athletes of the Week.
Jose Chorro – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Junior – Sal Salvador, El Salvador – Chorro won the men's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.36 seconds at the Gillette Conglomerate Open for Dickinson State (N.D.). He set a new personal best time of 8.35 seconds, which was the top time in the prelims. Chorro was also the anchor of the 4 x 400-meter relay that held off the competition for the meet victory with a time of 3 minutes, 24.69 seconds (three seconds improvement from previous meet). Chorro Was also named NSAA Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Leslie Beaudoin – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 5'10" – Junior – Forward – Dickinson, N.D. – Beaudoin led 20th-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) with 33 points and registered six rebounds, three assists, three blocked shots and a steal in 100-91 road victory at Dickinson State (N.D.). She shot 13-of-17 from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 from the 3-point line, and converted 2-of-3 free-throws in the game. Beaudoin followed up with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocked shots in 70-65 home victory over Mayville State (N.D.). For the week, she averaged 22.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 blocks per week as the Blue Hawks went 2-0 record. Beaudoin was also named NSAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
