The NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships will begin today in Geneva, OH. The Blue Hawks will have five members of the track and field squad competing this weekend with the hopes of All-American honors.
Both John Paul Williams and Trevor Willis will be competing in the heptathlon today and tomorrow. Williams is seeded 7th in the event with 4,803 points. Trevor Willis is seeded 9th with 4,771 points. Williams will also compete in the pole vault on Saturday. He sits in the sixth spot at 15 feet 9 inches in the vault. Andrew Knebel will high jump on Friday afternoon for the Hawks. His personal best on the season is 6 feet 8 ¾ inches. That ranks him tied for fifth in the nation.
Competing in the 60 meter high hurdles are Brianny Williams and Nathan Magstadt. Both will compete in the preliminary rounds on Friday and hope to advance to the finals on Saturday afternoon. Brianny has run 9.10 seconds this year. That ranks her 15th in the event. Magstadt has run a time of 8.24 seconds and is ranked 11th.
