Dickinson State University Director of Athletics Tim Daniel is pleased to announce the hiring of Jon Stenman as the Blue Hawks Head Volleyball Coach.  Stenman will also serve as an instructor of health and physical education.

"Coach Stenman brings a wealth of volleyball experience to Dickinson State University. We are very excited about the future of DSU volleyball under the direction of Coach Stenman. He will be a great fit for our university and the community of Dickinson." said Tim Daniel.

Stenman, a New York native, has spent the last three years as the Centenary College (Shreveport, LA) head volleyball coach.  Stenman led the Centenary Ladies to their highest win total in an eleven year span and also guided numerous individual athletes to post-season accolades.  While at Centenary College, Stenman wore several different hats serving as the head volleyball coach, adjunct exercise science professor, interim director of athletics and interim sports information director.

Stenman is excited to start his new role at Dickinson State, "What really sold me on accepting the position was the terrific people I met on my interview. From Dr. Coston, Tim Daniel, the athletic staff and players I felt completely comfortable and relaxed during my visit. That made my decision to accept an easy one and I am excited to hit the ground running" said Stenman.

Stenman takes over the Blue Hawk Volleyball Team that went 4-24 last year and finished ninth last year in the final Frontier Conference standings.  "Together, the team and I are going to work together to improve and get better everyday" said Stenman.
