DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks dropped an offensive slugfest with Bethesda University on Friday (Mar. 21), 12-11. Dickinson State is now 4-18 on the season. Ryan Risse's five RBIs would not be enough to top Bethesda.
Bethesda put up two runs in the first, one in the fourth, six in the fifth, one in the seventh, and two in the eighth. They tallied 19 hits, eight runs batted in, and three stolen bases.
Austin Taft went 4-for-6 and scored two runs. Joe Binstock went 4-for-4 with two runs batted in. Caleb Burgard went 3-for-5 and scored two runs. Miles O'Donnell notched two hits, scored twice, and had one run batted in. Thad Lane went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI. Sam Bisson recorded two hits, scored twice, and drove a run in. Risse led the Blue Hawks with two hits, one of which was a grand slam, and five runs batted in. His grand slam came in the seventh inning. Chas Allen went five innings and surrendered nine runs (seven earned) on twelve hits.
The Blue Hawks will be back on the field on Thursday (Mar. 27) when they take on Concordia College-Moorehead at Astoria Field. Game one is scheduled for 2 p.m.
