DICKINSON, N.D. – Westmont (Calif.) got the better of the Blue Hawks on Monday (Mar. 17), 10-0. Dickinson State is now 3-14 on the year.
Westmont opened the scoring early, plating two runs in the first inning of Monday's game on two hits. They followed with three runs in the third, one in the fourth, three in the sixth, and one in the seventh.
Westmont starter Casey Schaper went three innings and surrendered four hits. Tyler Karp recorded the win. In two innings of relief, Karp allowed just one hit. Steven Pollex, Brandon Gildea, and Michael Pollex each recorded two hits. Gildea and Alex Bush each knocked in two runs, while Blake Matthias drove in three.
Chas Allen was touched up for nine runs over six innings for the Blue Hawks. He allowed 10 hits and struck out four hitters. Joe Binstock, Jeff VanCleave, and Austin Taft each recorded a hit. Thad Lane was 2-for-3.
The Blue Hawks will be back on the field Wednesday (Mar. 18) for a doubleheader with Grace University.
