Overbo notches win in game two against Jimmies

DICKINSON, N.D. – Brock Overbo tossed five shutout innings in game two to help guide the Blue Hawks to a 3-0 win over the University of Jamestown.  The Jimmies got the better of the Blue Hawks in game one, 8-2 Dickinson State is now 10-38 overall. 

Jamestown struck for two big back-to-back innings in game one.  They plated three in the second and four in the third.  They added another run in the fourth.

In the bottom of the second the Blue Hawks' offense put up a run.  Sam Bisson scored on a fielder's choice by Austin Taft.  The throw to the plate was not in time to nail the sliding Bisson.

Dickinson State scored again in the bottom of the fifth inning.  Taft singled and moved to third on a double by Caleb Burgard.  Jordan Tescher grounded out, but Taft came around to score. 

Eric Seiler went all seven innings and allowed eight runs, 10 hits, and had one strikeout. Ryan Risse notched a pair of hits.  Four different Blue Hawks had a hit.  Tescher and Taft recorded RBIs.

Overbo got the nod in game two and stymied the Jimmies.  In the second inning he got into some trouble, but was able to strand two runners without allowing a run.  Overbo forced Jamestown to leave two more stranded in the fourth.  Overbo went five scoreless frames and allowed just three hits. 

Kyle McKay struggled in the first inning.  He walked Tescher to start things off.  Jake Coyle then roped a single through the right side.  Eric Contreras lofted a single down the right field line to drive home Tescher.  Risse singled home Coyle.  McKay was lifted after with two outs, after walking Taft to load the bases.  Ryan Sheeley came on to record the third out in the first inning. 

Burgard hit a leadoff triple in the fourth inning and was driven home on a fielder's choice by Tescher, extending the Blue Hawks lead to 3-0.

Brendan Hardaway came on to record a hold in the sixth inning, he allowed a leadoff walk before getting Landon Uetz to pop up.  Hardaway then got Dylan Lafrentz to hit into a tailor-made 6-4-3 double play.  Ian Anderson came on for the save and set the side down in order.

Tescher had a run scored and a run driven in.  Risse had a hit and a RBI, as did Contreras.  Burgard notched a pair of hits and scored a run.

The Blue Hawks' regular season has come to a close.  They are now preparing for the NSAA Conference Tournament. Play beings on May 2.
