Watson Inks 3B Murphy

DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State Head Baseball Coach Jason Watson is pleased to announce Austin Murphy has signed with the Blue Hawks.

The Torrington, Wyoming native is a transfer from Wayne State (Nebraska).  Murphy is a third baseman, who earned 2014 Wyoming Legion All-Conference, All-State, and Conference Player-of-the-Year honors.

"I chose to sign with Dickinson State University and become a member of the Blue Hawk baseball team because of the interest Coach Watson showed me while I was in high school," Murphy said.  "My brother Brock always had great things to say about DSU and the facilities here are top notch."

Brock Murphy was a shortstop for the Blue Hawks from 2012-13.

"Austin is a very gifted baseball player," Watson said.  "He brings a lot of talent and knowledge of the game to our program. I feel Austin has the tools it takes to develop into an outstanding baseball player."

Murphy is the son of Jason and Jennifer.  He will major in business.  Off the field, Murphy enjoys fishing, hunting, and construction.
