DSU Baseball Drops First Game of the 2015 Season

MILES CITY, MT- The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Baseball team dropped their season opener to UM-Crookston with a score of 14-9 on a chilly day in Montana.

The Blue Hawks had a 9-3 lead going into the top of the fifth inning when the Golden Eagles put up a 9 spot to take the lead at 12-9. The Eagles added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning, enough to top the Blue Hawks.

Leading the way for the Blue Hawks was Senior Caleb Burgard who was 2-3 with one RBI. Eric Seiler was 2-3 with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored. Jordan Tescher was 2-4 with a home run, two RBI, and three runs scored. Freshman Dylan Skabo was 2-5 with one run scored. Jacob Hignite, Landon Briscoe, Tyler Czech, Ryan Risse, and John Hollingsworth each added a hit.

Josh Schuller started the game for the Blue Hawks going 4.2 innings allowing two hits, six earned runs, with four walks and five strikeouts. Ryan Mitchell took the loss going 1.1 innings allowing six earned runs.
