MILES CITY, MT- The Dickinson State University Baseball team lost to UM-Crookston, 10-4.
The Blue Hawks once again had an early lead but could not end the game with a victory. UM-Crookston saw themselves trailing 4-1 in the fifth inning and began a comeback. The Golden Eagles outscored the Blue Hawks 9-0 in the final five innings.
Eric Seiler, John Hollingsworth and Jacob Hignite lead the way for the Blue Hawks with two hits each. Seiler was 2-4 with a double and two RBI's, Hollingsworth was 2-4 with two RBI's, and Hignite was 2-3 with two runs scored. Jordan Tescher and Sam Bisson picked up the final two hits for the Blue Hawks.
Tony Roberts started the game on the mound going 4.1 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Freshman T.J. Pogroszewski came in relief throwing 2.2 innings while allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits with one strikeout and two walks. Freshman Andrew Sampsel finished the game on the mound throwing two shutout innings allowing no runs on no hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
The Blue Hawks finish the five game series with the Golden Eagles tomorrow with two- seven inning games begining at 11:00 AM (MST).
