Sam Bisson & Caleb Burgard Named 2015 NAIA Scholar Athletes

DICKINSON, ND- Head Baseball Coach Jason Watson is pleased to announce Sam Bisson and Caleb Burgard have been selected 2015 NAIA Scholar Athletes.

In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status.

Sam Bisson is a senior from Livingston, Montana who has maintained a 3.772 GPA while majoring in Exercise Science with minors in Coaching and Leadership Studies in his five years at Dickinson State University. Bisson has also been part of the Blue Hawk Baseball team the last five years while playing infield.

Caleb Burgard is a senior from Dickinson, North Dakota who has maintained a 3.669 GPA while majoring in Elementary Education in his five years at Dickinson State University. Burgard has been part of the Blue Hawk Baseball team for five years as an outfielder.

"I am very proud of Sam and Caleb for what they have accomplished in their time here at Dickinson State University. They are a true example of what I expect from the student- athletes on our team, from their hard work and dedication on the field but more importantly in the classroom," said Coach Watson.

Sam and Caleb recently received their bachelors degree from Dickinson State University during the spring commencement.
