DICKINSON, ND- Head Baseball Coach Jason Watson is pleased to announce the signing of Sagan Osborne to join the Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Baseball team.
Osborne is a 6'3" 205 pound Utility player from Anchorage (AK) who will see playing time all over the field. He attended Utah Valley University (UT) and was named the Great West Conference Pre-season Freshman of the Year as well as Second Team All- Conference as a freshman. He then transferred to Treasure Valley CC (OR) as a sophomore.
While attending Diamond High School, he received many awards on the baseball field such as All- Conference Outfield, All- State Third Base and All- State Relief Pitcher. He was also a three time All- State Starting Pitcher, two time All- State Utility Player, All- State Catcher, Conference Most Valuable Player, State Most Valuable Player, and also received the Alaska State Big Stick Award. His high school team also won the Alaska State Championship two times and finished runner- up two times.
Sagan is the son of Rusty and Staci Osborne. His father Rusty is currently the Head Basketball Coach at the University of Anchorage.
"I chose to sign with Dickinson State University because I wanted the chance to come in and contribute to a program that is clearly on the rise," said Osborne.
Obsorne plans to major in Education at Dickinson State University and enjoys basketball, fishing and camping in his free time.
"Adding Sagan to our program is a great pick up for us. He is a tremendous athlete who gives us depth in the outfield, infield and possibly on the mound. He comes from a great family who has taught him the importance of hard work and dedication. I am excited to see what Sagan will do for us on the field," said Coach Watson.
