DICKINSON, ND- 6'5" right-handed pitcher Travis Rowe signed his National Letter of Intent to pitch for the Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Baseball team, Head Coach Jason Watson announced Tuesday.
"I chose to sign with DSU because the tuition is affordable, great facilities, good curriculum and I have the ability to contribute to an emerging baseball program," said Rowe.
Rowe is a transfer from Chandler- Gilbert Community College in Gilbert, AZ. Rowe attended Williams Field High School also in Gilbert (AZ) where he holds the single season pitching record for most wins with nine. He was also named to the Division 2 Arizona Senior All-Star Team and AIA All Selection 2nd Team. Rowe was also selected Arizona Central All-State Honorable Mention and East Valley Tribune Honorable Mention.
Travis plans to major in Business Administration at DSU. In high school, he received the Arizona State Provost Award and the Arizona Christian Provost Scholarship. His parents are Teri Rowe and Angie Darnell. Rowe enjoys music, movies, fitness, home repair, horses and reading.
"Adding Travis to our pitching rotation will give us more depth on the mound. He is a very competitive person who has a tremendous work ethic," said Coach Watson.
