DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Head Baseball Coach, Jason Watson, is pleased to announce the signing of two baseball players to join the Blue Hawk Baseball team for the 2017 spring season.
Micquel Robinson (OF, 6', 175 lbs.)
"I chose to sign with Dickinson State University because DSU is a great place to earn your degree and I want to help the Blue Hawk Baseball program continue to grow," stated Robinson.
Robinson is a native of Las Vegas, NV and spent the last two seasons at Salt Lake CC. Micquel plans to major in Nursing at Dickinson State University.
Micquel is the son of Tracee Scott.
"Micquel is a very talented athlete who will contribute in our program right away," said Watson. "He covers a ton of ground in the outfield and has a great approach at the plate. His speed will also help us on the base paths."
Robinson attended Cimarron-Memorial HS in Las Vegas.
Karson Hanosky (INF, 5'8", 160 lbs)
Hanosky spent the last two seasons at Dawson CC in Glendive, MT where he helped DCC win the 2016 Mon-Dak Championship as well as being named to the 2016 Mon-Dak All-Conference Team. Karson batted .388 with 15 stolen bases and three triples for DCC in 2016.
"DSU gave me the chance to further my education and also continue to play baseball," stated Hanosky. "The Blue Hawk Baseball team is very competitive and I am excited to play for Coach Watson."
Karson is from Rexburg, ID and attended Sugar Salem HS. He is the son of Karl and Kathy Hanosky and plans to major in Physical Education at Dickinson State University.
"Karson will be in the mix for second base and possibly an outfield position this spring," said Watson. "He is very quick and executes the small ball game very well. He can be a great asset to our offense with his speed."
The Blue Hawks open up the 2017 season on Saturday, March 4th when they take on NCAA DII University of Minnesota- Crookston at the new U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
