"Go Grace Go"
October 20, 2010 Grace was diagnosed with Optic Pathway/Hypothalamic Glioma. She started chemotherapy immediately to try to shrink the the brain tumor. It was confirmed she has a Juvenile Pilocytic Astrocytoma with pilomyxoid characteristics.
Since 2010, Grace has had several surgeries to reduce the size of Her tumor, shunt placement, feeding tube placement, multiple trips to the hospital for blood transfusions, various chemotherapy options throughout her 7 years of life.
In December 2016, After one of Grace's routine appointments in Minneapolis, it was found that her tumor is continuing to grow at a steady rate and the current chemo is no longer working. There are very few next treatment options for Grace.
From one of the most recent posts on Grace's CaringBridge site dated 4/11/17, "This is hard to say, but we just actually do not know how much time we have with Grace nor how fast this tumor will grow if the medicine does not work. So with May just around the corner, we always Go GRAY in May! What better time to rally support for Grace."
Grace's parents are Cory and Andrea Bittner, who reside in Dickinson, ND, both former graduates of Dickinson State University. Grace has two older brothers, Grant and Owen, who have unending love for their sister. God has truly blessed our family and friends with this sweet little girl. GRACE is Our Brain Tumor Hero! "Go Grace Go!"
Make sure to pick up a game program at the game to find out how to purchase your "Go Grace Go" shirts and support Grace.
