DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State University Head Football Coach Pete Stanton has announced the signing of five players from Montana for the 2014-15 season.
Jeff Fisher is a 6-foot-2 lineman from Baker, Mont. Fisher was an all-state and all-conference selection on both offense and defense. He was also selected to the Class B All-Star Game and helped lead Baker to the state "B" championship game. Fisher will be a dual sport athlete at Dickinson State and will compete for the track and field program. He was a state champion track and field athlete for Baker, including in shot put where he earned an all-state selection.
Dustin Irgens hails from Baker, Mont. and is a 5-foot-10 lineman. Like Fisher, Irgens was an all-state selection on both sides of the ball and appeared in the Class B All-Star Game. Alongside his teammate, Irgens helped lead baker to an appearance in the state B championship game.
Devin Schwanz is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman from Plentywood, Mont. He was a first team all-conference selection on offense, as well as a second team all-conference selection on defense. Schwanz earned academic all-state honors in three separate years.
Logan Wilcox of Lewiston, Mont. will be joining the Blue Hawks as a tight end and defensive end. The 6-foot-5 all-state and all-conference selection was an alternate for the Shrine Game. Wilcox also starts on the basketball team.
Braden Collins is a 6-foot-4 wide receiver from Absarokee, Mont. where he earned all-conference honors and was a Treasure State All-Star. Collins is a three sport athlete.
"These players from eastern Montana will certainly help solidify our team by strengthening the quality of our depth on our fronts and at tight end," Stanton said. "They are all multi-sport athletes that come from quality programs. In addition to being good players, they are also good students and citizens. We are thrilled to have this group of young men join our program."
