DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State University Head Football Coach Pete Stanton is pleased to announce the signing of Tommy Sease and Jamalcolm Liggins out of Bismarck High School.
Sease is a 6-foot-2 defensive end who started for three years at Bismarck High School. He was named to the 1st Team All-State twice (2012 and 2013) and was named 1st Team All-Conference twice (2012 and 2013). Sease was named the Bismarck's Defensive Player of the Year and selected to play in the Montana vs. North Dakota Bowl Game in Dickinson in June.
"He is a very good football player, one of the top players in the state of North Dakota," Stanton said of Sease. "He will be a great fit for our program and defensive system at outside linebacker. He was a highly sought recruit. Coach Schillinger established a good relationship with Tommy throughout the entire recruiting process. We are excited to have him join us and feel he will be a big part of the program in the future."
Liggins is a 6-foot-1 cornerback who was selected as an All-Conference performer. He was also an All-State track and field performer in the triple jump and long jump. Liggins was selected to play in the Shrine Game.
"Jay is a very athletic player," Stanton said. "Jay has the ability to compete for a spot in the secondary next year. He is very instinctive and has the experience of playing in a very successful program. Jay is also one of the top jumpers in the state in track and field, and will be a two sport athlete at DSU."
Sease and Liggins were cogs on the Bismarck High defense, helping guide the team to two state championship titles in four years.
