482 Offensive Yards Leads Blue Hawks Past Comets

MAYVILLE, N.D. – The Blue Hawks put up 482 yards on offense on Saturday (Sept. 27) against Mayville State University and came away with a 43-6 victory.  Dickinson State and Mayville are both 2-3 on the season.

John Poppe threw for 146 yards and was picked off twice by Blue Hawk defenders.  The Dickinson State defense held Rashad Flanders to just 26 yards on eight carries and battered Homer Reed on 11 carries for just 23 yards.  Lance Jackson caught seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown.  Dantrel Horne reeled in six passes.  Travis Ahlgren recorded 12 solo tackles.  Jacob Grosz picked up nine solo tackles.

Kaler Ray picked up 98 yards through the air with two touchdown passes.  Myren Moore rushed for 183 yards and one touchdown.  He broke a 55-yard rush for his longest play of the day.  Jesse Carney also broke the century rushing mark with 104 yards and two touchdowns.  A trio of Blue Hawk receivers had a pair of catches.  Dalton Reid and Channing Wagner each had a touchdown reception.  Thomas Sease recorded five solo tackles, three tackle assists, and 2.5 sacks for a loss of five yards.  Colby Wartman had one sack for a loss of 10 yards.  Matt McCoy recorded 1.5 sacks for a loss of 11 yards.  Will Cunningham and Michael Hernandez also recorded a sack each.

The Blue Hawks will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 4) when they host Jamestown.  The Homecoming game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
