DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks are home again after routing Mayville State 43-6 last weekend. Dickinson State will host the Jamestown Jimmies on Saturday (Oct. 4) for Homecoming at 1 p.m. at the Henry Biesiot Activities Center. Jamestown comes into the game with a 1-3 record. The matchup is a non-conference affair. The Blue Hawks are 2-3 on the season.
Chris Johnson leads the Jimmies with 208 yards on the ground in the 2014 season. In 48 carries, the senior running back has found the end zone three times. Junior quarterback Beau Eriksson is 74-for135 on the season, with seven touchdowns and five interceptions. Michael Sena leads the Jimmies with 21 receptions, 406 yards, and two touchdowns. Jamestown is coming off of a 48-17 loss to Valley City State. The Jimmies scored first on a 5-yard run by Johnson, however Valley City receiver Antoine Griffin busted a few long punt returns to quell the Jimmies.
The Dickinson State offense found the end zone more than a few times against Mayville State. Kaler Ray picked up 98 yards through the air with two touchdown passes. Myren Moore rushed for 183 yards and one touchdown. He broke a 55-yard rush for his longest play of the day. Jesse Carney also broke the century rushing mark with 104 yards and two touchdowns. A trio of Blue Hawk receivers had a pair of catches. Dalton Reid and Channing Wagner each had a touchdown reception. Thomas Sease recorded five solo tackles, three tackle assists, and 2.5 sacks for a loss of five yards. Colby Wartman had one sack for a loss of 10 yards. Matt McCoy recorded 1.5 sacks for a loss of 11 yards. Will Cunningham and Michael Hernandez also recorded a sack each.
Last season, Dickinson State hosted Jamestown for Homecoming as well. The Blue Hawks pulled in a 27-7 win. Carney found the end zone in the first quarter on a one-yard run. Ray threw a 31-yard TD pass to JT Keith, before Carney would find the end zone twice more. The Blue Hawks forced two interceptions, one by Shawn Alder and the second by Shawn Moore.
The Blue Hawks look to improve to 2-0 over the Jimmies in the past two years. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Biesiot Activities Center.
