JAMESTOWN, N.D. – The Blue Hawks picked up their seventh win of the season against Jamestown on Saturday (Nov. 15), 28-21. Dickinson State is now 7-4 on the season and 5-1 in North Star play. Jamestown falls to 5-5 and 4-2 in conference play.
Ray's arm struck again in the first quarter, this time to Austin Brown. Ray connected with Brown on a 59-yard pass (Borm PAT) to give the Blue Hawks a 14-0 lead.
Jamestown scored twice in the second quarter. Beau Erikkson found Gavin Farley on two passes, one for 11 yards and one for nine, to tie the score at 14-14.
In the second half, Jesse Carney punched into the end zone twice. Three minutes into the fourth quarter Carney took off for a 39-yard touchdown run (Borm PAT). Carney then darted in for a five-yard carry with 2:35 remaining in regulation (Borm PAT).
Erikkson found Alex Johnson on a two-yard pass with 56 seconds left (Linde PAT), but the Jimmies fell 28-21.
Erikkson threw for 234 yards with three touchdowns and three picks. Farley caught a pair of touchdowns and Johnson caught one. Keith Rogers and Wes Worthen each had an interception. Jarelle Miller notched a sack and 14 total tackles.
Carney carried 19 times for 137 yards for the Blue Hawks with two touchdowns. Ray threw for 127 yards with two touchdowns. Brown and Keith each had one touchdown reception and two catches. Matt McCoy recorded two sacks and notched 10 total tackles. Colby Wartman recorded one sack for a loss of 13 yards. Robert Sterling had one interception, while Awa Poggi picked off two passes.
Dickinson State's regular season has come to an end. The Blue Hawks will begin preparations for 2015.
