Tray Boone Named NSAA Offensive Player of the Week

MADISON, S.D. – Dacotah Bank and North Star Athletic Association are proud to announce the elventh edition of the Football Players-of-the-Week Monday.  Tray Boone of Dickinson State (N.D.) was selected to this week's Offensive Player-of-the-Week.  Jarelle Miller of Jamestown (N.D.) was named to Defensive Player-of-the-Week, while his teammate Nathan Milos earned the Special Teams Player-of-the-Week honor.

Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Offensive Player of the Week
Tray Boone – Dickinson State (N.D.) – 5'9" – 150 lbs., Junior – running back – Los Angeles, Calif. – Boone rushed 24 times for 186 yards with two touchdowns in helping No. 21-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.) defeat Dakota State (S.D.) 49-30 in the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl game.  One of his rushing touchdowns resulted in a backflip for a touchdown in the end zone.

Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Defensive Player of the Week
Jarelle Miller – Jamestown (N.D.) – 6'2" – 225 lbs., Senior – defensive line – Orlando, Fla. – Miller became the first Jimmie to record 100 tackles in a single season as Jamestown (N.D.) wrapped up the season with a 28-18 victory over Mayville State (N.D.) in the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl Game.  He registered 15 tackles (7 solo), accumulating a total of 114 tackles in 2015.  Miller also had 4.5 tackles-for-loss of 21 yards.  He had a quarterback sack and an interception. 

Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week
Nathan Milos – Jamestown (N.D.) – 6'4" – 190 lbs., Sophomore – punter – Bellevue, Neb. – Jamestown's (N.D.) Milos recorded two punts for an average of 51.5 yards (total of 103 punting yards) in 28-18 UJ victory over Mayville State (N.D.) in the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl Game.  His two punts resulted in MSU's starting field position at the 18-yard line.

All seven North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) members along with Trinity Bible (N.D.) played in the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl Game on Nov. 8 at FargoDome in Fargo, N.D.  All games were counted as a non-conference games.

Presentation (S.D.) kicked off the day by racking up a total of 757 offensive yards in 67-32 victory over Trinity Bible.  The game saw a combined 1,218 offensive yards by both teams with Lions recording 461 total offensive yards.  PC finished their season with a 4-6 overall record.

In the second game of the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl game, Valley City State (N.D.) roared to a 42-0 halftime lead over Waldorf (Iowa).  The Vikings produced a total of 598 offensive yards, cruising to a 56-7 dominating victory over the Warriors.  WC had 259 total offensive yards in the game, who fell to 2-7 overall record.  VCSU wrapped up their 2015 season with an overall record of 7-3.

Dickinson State (N.D.), ranked No. 21 in the latest NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 national rankings, avenged their only conference loss of the season with a 49-30 victory over Dakota State (S.D.) in the third game of the Dacotah Bank/NSAA Football Bowl Game.  With the statistically evenly in every categories, the Blue Hawks took advantage of Trojans' three fumbles and an interception.  Dakota State finished their season with an overall record of 6-5, while Dickinson State improved to 8-2 overall record.

Jamestown (N.D.) won the nightcap with a 28-18 victory over Mayville State (N.D.), despite being outgained by the Comets in total offensive yards 386-378.  The Jimmies opened up with a 21-6 halftime lead before holding off MSU's late rally.  The Comets outscored UJ 12-0 in the final quarter.  Jamestown concluded their regular-season with a 4-6 overall record, while Mayville State finished their 2015 season with a 5-5 record.

Waldorf (Iowa) play their final regular-season game on Saturday as they visit Trinity Bible (N.D.).

No. 21-ranked Dickinson State (N.D.), the NSAA conference regular-season champion, awaits to see if they will be playing in the NAIA Football National Playoffs next week.
