Blue Hawk Football Signs Four Dickinson High Players

DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State Head Football Coach, Pete Stanton, is pleased to announce the signing of four Dickinson High football players. Quaid Larsen, Drew Heiser, Dual Keck and Jacob Weidner have all signed letters of intent to play for the Blue Hawks.

"Our number one priority in recruiting is to recruit the best people and players in western North Dakota," stated Stanton.  "This priority starts in Dickinson, so we are elated to be able to add these four players from Dickinson High to our program. The Midgets had a great season and a lot of it had to do with the ability and leadership of these four guys. We are excited to have them be Blue Hawks."

Quaid Larsen     6'2" 210 OL/DL- 1st Team All-State- All WDA

"The DSU football program is very successful and I would like to continue my education close to home," stated Larsen when asked why he chose DSU.

Larsen has been an All-State offensive lineman, All-Region offensive and defensive line while competing in football for three years as well as four years in track for DHS. Quaid enjoys hunting as is an honor roll student.

Quaid is the son of Marilyn and Eudell Larsen.

"Quaid is a guy who just works really hard. He was an all-state first team player on the offensive line. We will look to play him on the defensive line. He is a good athlete who has made himself successful through hard work on the field and in the classroom," said Stanton.

Drew Heiser      6'2 245 OL/DL- 2nd Team All-State (Two time All-State)- All WDA 

"Dickinson State has a great football program we well as being a great college," stated Heiser when asked why he chose DSU.

Heiser is an All-State offensive lineman. Drew enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. Heiser is also an honor roll student.

Drew is the son of Russ and Cara Heiser.

"Drew is a talented player who has been all state two years. He is capable of playing on either side of the ball. We will have him play offense and he has the ability to play multiple positions.  With his size, work ethic, and athleticism Drew has the potential to be very successful here," stated Stanton.

Dual Keck            6' 280 OL/DL- 2nd Team All-State- All WDA 

When asked why he chose DSU, Keck said "It's at home and it is a great college. They also have a very good program that is very successful."

Keck was All-West Region and 2nd Team All-State as a senior. During high school, Dual also participates in wrestling and track and field for DHS.

Dual is the son of Shawn Keck and Michelle Storjahan.

"Dual had an outstanding senior year. He is very strong and a physical player. He is one that will adapt to the college game well with his size and strength. He is also an all-state wrestler," stated Stanton.

Jacob Weidner 6'2" 210 TE/LB- 2nd Team All-State- All WDA 

"I chose DSU so I could still play football with high school friends and so my family can come to games," said Weidner.

Weidner was an All-West Region selection and enjoys hunting and fishing. He also participates in basketball and track for DHS. Jacob plans to major in Biology at Dickinson State University.

Jacob is the son of Brian and LaDawn Weidner.

"Jacob is a well rounded player who had a great senior season. He is capable of playing a number of positions. He has the ability to block and play TE well. He can line up on defense and rush the passer but is also capable of dropping into coverage. He has great potential at the college level with his size and athleticism," said Stanton.
