Blue Hawks Sign U-Mary Transfer, WR Nick Kottre

DICKINSON, ND- Dickinson State University Football is proud to announce the signing of Nick Kottre.  Kottre is a 5'9" 170 pound wide receiver from Bismarck.  He spent three years at the University of Mary.

Kottre was the fourth leading wide receiver for the Marauders.  He recorded 26 receptions for 166  yards this past fall.  He will have two years left to play for the Blue Hawks, where he will join former Demon teammates Hayden Gibson, Thomas Sease and Jamalcolm Liggins.  He will also join former teammate and wide receiver Seth Ewoniuk, who transferred from the University of Mary and helped guide the Blue Hawks to a North Star Conference Championship this fall.

It is the second Bismarck High Demon the Blue Hawks have signed thus far, as Kicker/Track standout Hunter Johnson signed last week to join the football & track programs for Dickinson State.

Kottre helped the Demons win state championships in 2011 & 2012 on the gridiron as well as a state track & field championship in 2013.

Nick Kottre: "I am excited about going to DSU because it has a great exercise science program, it has a very competitive football team, and it's affordable."

"Nick will add depth to our receiving core, which already has most of our key players returning.  Nick comes from a winning high school program.  He has great work ethic and understands what it takes to be successful.", said Blue Hawks Head Coach Pete Stanton.
