DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Football team defeated the University of Jamestown, 41-13, on Saturday in a NSAA game at the Biesiot Activities Center.
On the next Jimmy possession, Cain Boschee intercepted Dylan Klatt's pass and took it 28 yards to the endzone for a Blue Hawk score. That interception was number eight for Boschee on the season and his fourth he has taken in for a touchdown. After a good kick by Johnson, the Blue Hawks now led the Jimmies 14-0.
The only scoring in the second quarter came off a Karsten Mack Jr. 20 yard touchdown run to put the Blue Hawks up 21-0 after a Johnson extra point. The Blue Hawks would take this lead into the locker room at halftime.
Mack Jr. would score the first touchdown of the second half with a two yard TD run to put the Blue Hawks up 27-0 after a missed extra point by Johnson, his first of the season.
Gibson would then connect with Dylan Skabo on a 44 yard touchdown pass to put DSU up 34-0 after the Johnson extra point.
Late in the third quarter, Klatt was again intercepted by Steven Koch and Koch also returned it for a 23 yard touchdown putting the Blue Hawks up 41-0 with the Johnson extra point.
The Jimmies would score twice in the fourth quarter when Klatt connected with Pete Fehr on a eight yard touchdown pass followed by a Ty Myron eight yard TD run to put the Jimmies down 41-13.
Dickinson State finished the game with 22 first downs, 309 yards rushing and 135 yards passing for a total of 444 yards.
The Jimmies finished with 15 first downs, 246 yards rushing and 155 yards passing for a total of 401 yards.
Dickinson State climbs to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in NSAA play while the Jimmies fall to 1-6 and 0-3 in NSAA play.
Kaler Ray led the Blue Hawk rushers with 98 yards on six carries while Mack Jr. rushed 15 times for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
Gibson was 14-27 for 128 yards, two interceptions and two touchdowns.
Austin Brown led the Blue Hawk receivers with seven catches for 46 yards and one touchdown.
Yvon St. Louis led the Jimmie backs with 119 yards on 12 carries. Klatt was 11-23 for 155 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. Josh Verghis led the Jimmies receivers with 76 yards on three catches.
Caleb Ellingson led the Jimmie defense with 12 tackles.
Dickinson State will play their final regular season home game next Sunday when they host the Dakota State University Trojans at 1:00 PM (MDT) at the Biesiot Activities Center.
