Dickinson State Football moves up one spot to #15 in latest 2016 NAIA Football Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Dickinson State University Football team has climbed one spot to #15 in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Monday. The Blue Hawks are currently tied with Sterling (Kan.) for the 15th spot. The final regular-season installment is scheduled to be released on Sunday, Nov. 13.

The Blue Hawks defeated Mayville State University on Saturday, 41-28, to finish the 2016 NSAA regular season undefeated and take the NSAA Football Championship for the second straight year.

Dickinson State will finish their 2016 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 12th at the University of Jamestown when they take on the Jimmies at 12:00 PM (MDT) in a non-conference game.

The Blue Hawks are currently 8-2 overall and won the NSAA with a 6-0 record.

Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
• Each conference is given one rater for every four schools in the league.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 25 points for each first-place vote, 24 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
