DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State University Head Men's Basketball Coach Justin Wetzel is pleased to announce Jacob Gondrezick has signed a letter of intent to play for the Blue Hawks in 2014-15.
"Jacob is an outstanding person from a great family and a very talented basketball player, he can really shoot the ball and does a great job of running a team from the point guard position," Weztel said. "He is the type of young man who will help build the winning culture we are focused on establishing here at DSU. Jacob was recruited heavily by a couple NCAA Division II schools closer to his home so it truly speaks volumes of Dickinson State and the community as a whole for Jacob to commit to our program."
The Salt Lake City native will join Dickinson State from Fort Lewis College. The six-foot point guard graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School, where he played baseball and basketball. Gondrezick was named a region MVP, second team All-State, and first team All-Region. He helped guide Judge Memorial to two region championships in 2011 and 2012.
"I feel very comfortable with Coach Wetzel and the Dickinson community," Gondrezick said. "I'm excited for the new conference, I feel the sky is the limit both on and off the court."
Gondrezick is the son of Gale and Lisa Gondrezick. He plans to major in business administration.
