Rocky Mountain tops Dickinson State

Dickinson, ND – The Blue Hawks started strong, but could not overcome Rocky Mountain in their first Frontier Conference game of the season.  Dickinson State fell 90-57.  The Blue Hawks are now 2-6 on the season, with a 0-1 record in Frontier play.

Tyree Anderson led the Battlin' Bears with 23 points, 12 of which were from beyond the three point line.  Joel Barndt chipped in 22 for Rocky.  Barndt led the Bears in rebounds with 19.  Overall the Battlin' Bears had 55 rebounds, 11 steals, and shot 50% from three point land. 

Junior guard DeSean Atkins led the scoring for Dickinson State with 14 points in only 12:57, while junior Tevin Russell finished with 10 points.  Senior Ty Ackelson led with six rebounds.  Both Russell and junior Mackenson Odenier picked up five rebounds.  The Blue Hawks finished with 39 rebounds, 11 steals, and four blocks.

The Blue Hawks will have 11 days off before playing host to the University of Jamestown on December 13.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
