DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks continued their activity in the community on Tuesday (Dec. 2) when the men's basketball team headed over to Saint Benedict Health Center, a non-profit skilled nursing facility which is part of the Benedictine Health System located in Dickinson, North Dakota, to help decorate the facility for the holiday season.
Myka Brown, Connor Donaldson, Billy Engle, and Curtis Redd, along with head coach Justin Wetzel decorated two wings of the facility. Women's assistant coach Kylee Bittner, also the manager of Benedictine Court, helped coordinate the community volunteer opportunity.
"It's always important to give back to the community and especially to our seniors in the Dickinson Community," Brown said. "If we are able to brighten their day it's well worth it."
Saint Benedict was moved to Dickinson in 1969 and returned to Benedictine Sponsorship in 1989. In 2003, tenants began moving into the new assisted living unit, Benedict Court.
Dickinson State will be back in action on Monday (Dec. 8) when they host Oglala at 7 p.m.
