DICKINSON, N.D. – The Blue Hawks were back in action on Monday (Dec. 8) against Oglala Lakota College. Dickinson State rolled over the Bravehearts, 106-78. The Blue Hawks are now 5-7 overall and 4-4 at home in Scott Gym.
Brice Hornbeck led the Bravehearts with 37 points. Antony Hopkins finished with 29. Only five Oglala players found the score sheet against the Blue Hawks. Hopkins finished with a team high 11 rebounds, all of which were defensive. Tim Has No Horse and Duane Rooks each recorded two offensive rebounds, the only four that Oglala could manage. The Bravehearts finished with 31 rebounds, four assists, nine steals, one block, and a shooting percentage of 40.6.
Dickinson State head coach Justin Wetzel utilized his bench against the Bravehearts. Keeton Tucker played 17 minutes and tallied 10 points with 12 rebounds. Billy Engel picked up 11 points off the bench in 16 minutes. Myka Brown tallied nine points and went 5-of-6 from the charity stripe. Connor Donaldson recorded a team high 22 points. Mackenson Odenier recorded a double-double. He tallied 11 points and a team high 14 rebounds. Jacob Gondrezick finished with 10 points. The Blue Hawks finished with 63 rebounds (24 offensive, 39 defensive), 16 assists, six steals, five blocks, and a shooting percentage of 46.5.
The Blue Hawks will be back in action on Friday (Dec. 19) when they head to the University of North Dakota for an exhibition.
