Blue Hawks Drop Final Regular Season Game to Dakota State

MADISON, SD- The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball Team Drops Final Regular Season Game to Dakota State.

The Hawks (11-16 overall; 3-7 NSAA) took on the Trojans of Dakota State (14-14 overall; 7-3 NSAA) in the final game of the regular season. The Blue Hawks never led in the game. With 10 minutes left in the first half and a tie game at 16 all, the Trojans took control. The half ended with Dakota States largest lead of the night, 18 and a score of 45-27. The Blue Hawks were outscored in the last 10 minutes 29-11.

The second half was not much different as the Trojans of Dakota State continued to control the game. Within the first few minutes they extended their lead to 23. Although the Hawks outscored the Trojans 37-30 in the second half it wasn't enough for the victory.

The Hawks were led by Tevin Russell with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Connor Donaldson finished the night with 14 points. Jacob Gonderzick added 13 points.

The Blue Hawks end the regular season 11-16 overall and 3-7 in conference play. They will be the #5 seed and travel back to #2 Dakota State to open up the NSAA Conference Tournament on Thursday February 26th. The winner of the conference tournament will advance to the NAIA National Tournament.
