MADISON, S.D. - Jamestown (N.D.) will be the number one seed for the upcoming 2015 North Star Athletic Association Men's Basketball Postseason Conference Tournament, which begins next week. Jamestown and Dakota State (S.D.) shared the 2015 league title with 7-3 records and Jamestown owns the tiebreaker for the number one seed according to the NSAA tiebreaker procedures. Dakota State will be number two seed, followed by Presentation (S.D.) three seed and Mayville State (N.D.) four seed. Dickinson State (N.D.) secures the No. 5 seed while Valley City State (N.D.) is No. 6 seed in the conference tournament.
All six NSAA schools will be playing in the quarterfinals round, starting with Valley City State traveling to Jamestown on Wednesday, Feb. 25 with a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The quarterfinals round action continues on Thursday, Feb. 26 with Dakota State hosting Dickinson State and Mayville State visiting Presentation. Both games are set for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
The winning highest seed from the quarterfinal round will host the NSAA's Championship Game with the date to be announced on a later date. The two remaining teams after the quarterfinal round battles in the semifinal round, which is slated for Sunday, March 1 at the second highest remaining seed in the tournament.
The winner of the NSAA Men's Basketball Postseason Conference Tournament's championship game will earn an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Tournament. The national tournament takes place on the campus of the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Mo. on March 11-17.
