DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team pulled out a victory over Johnson & Wales 87-78 on Friday night in Scott Gymnasium.
The Blue Hawks struggled early in the first half while Johnson & Wales took a 42-33 lead into halftime. Dickinson State shot 33 percent from the field and seven percent from three in the first half while Johnson & Wales shot 43 percent from the field and 11 percent from three.
The second half was a different story. The Blue Hawks came out and clawed their way back into the game. Dickinson State outscored Johnson & Wales 54-36 in the second half on their way to their fifth win of the season.
Dickinson State finished the game shooting 40 percent from the field, 25 percent from three and 73 percent from the line while Johnson & Wales shot 41 percent from the field, 26 percent from three and 59 percent from the line in the loss to the Blue Hawks.
The Blue Hawks finished the game with 54 rebounds, 12 assists, 16 turnovers, five blocks and nine steals while Johnson & Wales grabbed 42 rebounds, 14 assists, 17 turnovers, three blocks and nine steals.
Dickinson State is now 5-3 and 0-0 NSAA and returns to the court Saturday when they host Trinity Bible College. Tip off is set for 7:00 PM (MDT).
