Blue Hawks Drop Final Game of the RMC Holiday Tournament with Loss to Montana Western

BILLINGS, MT- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team dropped their final game of the Rocky Mountain College Holiday Tournament with a loss to Montana Western, 82-73.

For the second time in two days, the Blue Hawks took a lead into halftime only to see it slip away in the second half. DSU outscored Montana Western 44-39 in the first half but Montana Western came back to outscore the Blue Hawks 43-29 in the second half leading to a Montana Western win, 82-73.

The Blue Hawks were led by Curtis Redd with 13 points while Jacob Gondrezick, Reggie Fields Jr., Brandon Jamar and Julian Vasquez each added nine points in the loss.

Montana Western was led by Shyke Smalls with 25 points, Quinn Smith with 18 and Dexter Williams Jr. with 16 points in the win over the Blue Hawks.

Dickinson State shot 39 percent from the field, 42 percent from three, 82 percent from the line, with 39 rebounds, 12 assists, 10 turnovers, six blocks and seven steals.

Montana Western shot 44 percent from the field, 39 percent from three, 77 percent from the line, with 48 rebounds, 13 assists, 13 turnovers, five blocks and four steals.

The Blue Hawks are now 7-7, 1-0 NSAA.

Dickinson State will now travel to Denver, Colorado on January 8th to play Johnson & Wales at 7:00 PM (MDT) and Northern New Mexico on January 9th at 3:00 PM (MDT).
