Blue Hawks Defeat Northern New Mexico to Finish 1-1 in Denver

DENVER, CO- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team defeated Northern New Mexico on Saturday, 97-82.

The Blue Hawks outscored Northern New Mexico 50-44 in the first half and 47-38 in the second half leading to a 97-82 win for Dickinson State.

Julian Vasquez led the Blue Hawks for the second straight day with 23 points after scoring 37 points Friday. Jacob Gondrezick scored 20 points while Curtis Redd added 14 points.

Stephon Dafney scored 12 points with nine rebounds and Reggie Fields Jr. finished with 11 points in the win over Northern New Mexico.

Dickinson State shot 50 percent from the field, 48 percent from three and 82 percent from the line while Northern New Mexico shot 42 percent from the field, 29 percent from three and 75 percent from the line.

The Blue Hawks are now 8-8 overall and 1-0 NSAA. Dickinson State will take on Viterbo University on Monday in a NSAA game in La Crosse (WI).
