DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team stayed undefeated in the NSAA with a win over the University of Jamestown on Saturday night in Scott Gymnasium, 85-71.
The Blue Hawks have won three games in a row now after beating the Jimmies. Dickinson State is currently in second place in the NSAA at 3-0 and trail Valley City State by one game with the Vikings sitting at 4-0 in NSAA play.
Dickinson State took an 11 point lead into halftime with a score of 41-30. The Blue Hawks shot 39 percent from the field and 27 percent from three in the first half while the Jimmies shot 46 percent from the field and 39 percent from three.
In the second half, the Blue Hawks out scored the Jimmies 44-41 leading to a 85-71 victory. Dickinson State finished the game shooting 41 percent from the field, 30 percent from three and 76 percent from the line while the Jimmies shot 38 percent from the field, 27 percent from three and 78 percent from the line.
Brequan Tucker led all scorers with 31 points while Logan Brown and Sam Johnson added 11 points for the Jimmies in the loss to the Blue Hawks.
Dickinson State recorded 43 rebounds, nine assists, seven turnovers and five steals while Jamestown hauled in 41 rebounds with six assists, 12 turnovers, three blocks and three steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 10-8 overall and 3-0 in the NSAA.
Dickinson State travels to Mayville State University to take on the Comets in a NSAA matchup on Wednesday at 7:30 PM before returning home on Saturday as they host Dakota State at 6:00 PM (MDT) in an NSAA game.
