DICKINSON, ND- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team avenged a road loss to the Comets with a 17 point victory on Saturday night.
In the first half, the Blue Hawks shot 39 percent from the field and 18 percent from three to take a 36-29 lead into halftime while the Comets shot 36 percent from the field and 33 percent from three.
The biggest lead in the game for Mayville State was five points at the 17:29 mark in the first half.
Dickinson State continued to put the pressure on the Comets and increased their shooting percentage in the second half to 49 percent from the field while the Comets shot 37 percent from the field.
The Blue Hawks biggest lead of the game came at the 12:19 mark in the second half when they led by 15 but finished the game with a 17 point win.
Chuck Robinson and Kiree Robinson led the Comets with 11 points each while Jamal Branco added 10 points in the loss to the Blue Hawks.
Dickinson State finished the game shooting 44 percent from the field, 13 percent from three and 74 percent from the line with 50 rebounds, 10 assists, eight turnovers, four blocks and seven steals.
Mayville State finished the game shooting 37 percent from the field, 29 percent from three and 56 percent from the line with 33 rebounds, 11 assists, 15 turnovers, two blocks and four steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 12-12 overall and 5-4 in the NSAA while the Comets fall to 14-9 overall and 4-6 in NSAA play.
Dickinson State will now travel to Valley City State University on Wednesday to take on the Vikings in a NSAA match up.
