Blue Hawks Fall to Bruins, 97-63

OMAHA, NE- The Dickinson State University Men's Basketball team lost to the Bellevue University Bruins, 97-63, on Saturday afternoon.

The Blue Hawks largest lead on the game came at the 17:50 mark in the first half when they were up by four points over the Bruins. The largest lead for the Bruins came at the 2:30 mark in the second half when they had a 37 points lead over Dickinson State.

Bellevue University took a 54-33 lead into halftime after shooting 49 percent from the field, 42 percent from three and 79 percent from the line.

Dickinson State shot 36 percent from the field, 17 percent from three and 63 percent from the line in the first half.

The Bruins kept the heat on in the second half, outscoring the Blue Hawks 43-30 and earning the NSAA victory with a score of 97-63.

Curtis Redd led the Blue Hawks with 15 points while Gilberto Shojgreen Jr. added 14 points and Reggie Fields Jr. added 12 points in the loss to the Bruins.

The Bruins had five players finish the game with double digit scoring. Mike Cardenas recorded a game high 17 points while Chris Ashanti added 16 points. Jarred Cook finished the game with 15 points, Nicolus Guzman scored 12 and Wes Burke added 10 points in the win.

Dickinson State is now 12-14 overall and 5-6 in NSAA play.

The Blue Hawks return home on Wednesday as they host the Presentation College Saints at 7:30 PM (MDT) on Senior Night.
