DICKINSON, ND- Julian Vasquez, a NCAA DII transfer from Colorado Mesa University, has signed a Letter of Intent to join the Men's Basketball Team, Head Coach Justin Wetzel announced.
Vasquez, a native of Miami, Florida, earned All-conference honors in the RMAC conference this past season. Averaging 14.3 points per game, over 2 assists per game, and 4 rebounds per game.
"Julian has proven himself as an all-conference player in a very tough NCAA DII league, he is a natural scorer, and was able to score over 20 points 7 times this year. I have no doubt he will fit our system and our culture we have built over the past year." Said Wetzel
Vasquez is no stranger to North Dakota. While playing at Dakota College at Bottineau he led the Mon-Dak Conference in scoring averaging 24.8 points per game, including a school record 53 points in one game. Vasquez was named the regional most valuable player, first team all-region, and first team all-conference and was named player of the week twice.
"DSU is a place where I'm comfortable, I can be myself. I have former teammates who are now currently in the program. I'm excited for my journey as a Blue Hawk." Said Vasquez
