DICKINSON, ND- Head Men’s Basketball Coach Justin Wetzel has announced two additions to the 15/16 recruiting class. Kolbi Selby of Faith, SD and Gilberto Shojgreen of Miami FL.
Gilberto Shojgreen an athletic 6’8 power forward will be joining the Blue Hawks from the powerful Williston State College basketball program, helping the Tetons to a 25-5 record this past year. He averaged 7.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game last season for the Tetons, reaching double figures in scoring 10 times.
“Gilberto has been a leader the past two years at the college level and brings tremendous energy on and off the court. His size and athleticism makes him very versatile on both ends of the floor,” said Wetzel.
“I chose DSU because of I’m comfortable with the environment surrounding the program, it’s going to be an exciting season,” stated Shojgreen.
Kolbi Selby a 6’3 small forward will be transferring from Northwest College. Prior to attending NWC Selby was a part of a championship team at Dakota College at Bottineau where he shot 40% from the field and 38% from the 3pt line.
“Kolbi fits what we are continuing to establish in the program here; character, toughness and talent. He is a blue-collar tough kid, with the ability to rebound and shoot the ball from the small forward position,” said Wetzel.
“Everyone in the program competes really hard, and that makes it a fun and exciting environment to be a part of,” stated Selby.
“Both of these young men have played in quality programs under Coach Cory Fehringer, they know what it takes to compete daily at a high level that experience is very valuable,” said Coach Wetzel.
