JAMESTOWN, ND – The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball team fought to a 84-81 North Star Conference win over the University of Jamestown Jimmies on Friday night.
The Blue Hawks lead Jamestown at halftime with a score of 47-35 and the Blue Hawks were outscored by the Jimmies in the second half with a 37-46 score to but managed to win the contest with a final score of 84-81.
The Blue Hawks were led in the scoring department by junior Jerry Shelvin with 21 points. Juniors Ryan Clark, Marcus White and senior Dontae Clark also scored in double digits for the Blue Hawks. Marcus White led the Blue Hawks with 11 total rebounds followed by Ryan Clark with 6 total rebounds. Jerry Shevlin led the Blue Hawks with a total of 5 assists for the game.
The University of Jamestown had four players score in double digits and had one player with five rebounds.
Dickinson State shot 49 percent from the field, 50 percent from three and 94 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded a total of 40 rebounds, 12 assists, 1 block, 3 steals and 14 turnovers.
The University of Jamestown shot 47 percent from the field, 22 percent from three and 64 percent from the free throw line. The Jimmies recorded a total of 35 rebounds, 7 turnovers, 2 blocks and 3 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 6-4 and 1-0 NSAA. The Blue Hawks next home contest will be on Friday, December 9th as they host North Star Conference opponent Bellevue University at 7:30p.m. (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
