MAYVILLE, ND – The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball team fought to a 81-58 North Star Conference win over the Mayville State University Comets on Saturday night behind a great overall team effort.
The Blue Hawks lead Mayville State University at halftime with a score of 40-27 and the Blue Hawks outscored the Comets in the second half with a 41-31 score to win the contest with a final score of 81-58.
The Blue Hawks were led in the scoring department by junior Marcus White with 21 points. Juniors Ryan Clark, Jerry Shevlin and Terrell Butler also scored in double digits for the Blue Hawks. Marcus White and Ryan Clark led the Blue Hawks with 7 total rebounds each. Senior Gilberto Shojgreen Jr. also grabbed 6 total rebounds for the Blue Hawks in the win. Senior Dontae Clark led the Blue Hawks with a total of 3 assists for the game.
Mayville State University had two players score in double digits and had one player with six rebounds.
Dickinson State shot 51 percent from the field, 44 percent from three and 88 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded a total of 36 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 blocks, 9 steals and 9 turnovers.
Mayville State University shot 40 percent from the field, 20 percent from three and 83 percent from the free throw line. The Comets recorded a total of 21 rebounds, 11 turnovers, 1 block and 2 steals.
The Blue Hawks are now 7-4 and 2-0 NSAA. The Blue Hawks next contest will be on Friday, December 9th as they host North Star Conference opponent Bellevue University at 7:30p.m. (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
