FOREST CITY, IA – The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball team fell to Waldorf University on Friday night on the campus of Waldorf University.
The Blue Hawks trailed Waldorf at halftime with a score of 25-33 and the Blue Hawks outscored the Warriors in the second half with a 35-31 score to lose the contest with a final score of 60-64.
The Blue Hawks were led in the scoring department by junior Marcus White with 24 points. Junior Terrell Butler also scored 10 points for the Blue Hawks. Junior Ryan Clark led the Blue Hawks with 7 total rebounds. Marcus White also pulled down 6 total rebounds for the Blue Hawks. Junior Jerry Shevlin led the Blue Hawks with a total of 3 assists for the game.
Waldorf University was led by junior center Kaden Verdin with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Senior point guard June Prowell also contributed 16 points and 2 assists for the Warriors in the win.
Dickinson State shot 39 percent from the field, 26 percent from three and 58 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded a total of 36 rebounds, 6 assists, 7 blocks, 6 steals and 13 turnovers.
Waldorf University shot 34 percent from the field, 22 percent from three and 73 percent from the free throw line. The Warriors recorded a total of 48 rebounds, 2 blocks, 11 turnovers, 10 assists and 4 steals.
The Waldorf University Warriors with the win climb to record of 6-12 overall and 2-3 in NSAA play.
The Blue Hawks are now 10-6 and 4-1 NSAA. The Blue Hawks next contest will be on Saturday, January 7th, 2017 against NSAA foe Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin at 4p.m. (MDT).
The Blue Hawks next home contest will be on Tuesday, January 10th, 2017 as they host non-conference opponent Trinity Bible College at 7:30p.m. (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
