DICKINSON, ND – The Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Men's Basketball team soared to a 103-52 non-conference win over the Trinity Bible College Lions on Tuesday night behind a great overall team effort.
The Blue Hawks lead Trinity Bible at halftime with a score of 48-25 and the Blue Hawks outscored the Lions in the second half with a 55-27 score to win the contest with a final score of 103-52.
The Blue Hawks were led in the scoring department by junior Konnor Goettsche and senior RJ Magar with 14 points each. Senior Reggie Fields Jr. chipped in 13 points and juniors Terrell Butler and Ryan Clark contributed 11 points each. Senior Brandon Jamar and junior Myka Brown lead the Blue Hawks with 9 total rebounds each. Ryan Clark an additional 8 rebounds and Reggie Fields Jr. corralled in another 7 rebounds for the Blue Hawks. Junior Jerry Shevlin led the Blue Hawks with a total of 8 assists for the game.
Trinity Bible College was led by Jaden Shockley with 16 points and 4 rebounds while Aaron Stemen added 11 points and 3 steal for the Lions. Korey Harris also hauled in 7 rebounds for the Lions.
Dickinson State University shot 51 percent from the field, 48 percent from three and 68 percent from the free throw line. The Blue Hawks recorded a total of 59 rebounds, 26 assists, 5 blocks, 8 steals and 14 turnovers.
Trinity Bible College shot 30 percent from the field, 29 percent from three and 80 percent from the free throw line. The Lions recorded a total of 26 rebounds, 18 turnovers, 7 assists and 8 steals.
The Trinity Bible College Lions fall to 1-10 overall and 1-1 in their conference play.
The Blue Hawks are now 11-7 and 4-2 NSAA. The Blue Hawks next contest will be on Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 as they host non-conference opponent Oglala Lakota College at 7:30 PM (MDT) in Scott Gymnasium.
