Blue Hawks Prove to be to Much for the Saints

DICKINSON, N.D.- The Blue Hawks played their lone weekend game Sunday evening against the Presentation College Saints. With the strong performance from Marcus White, 25 points, the Blue Hawks were able to close out the Saints with a 102-82 win.

The teams set a fast-paced game in the first half. The Blue Hawks had trouble slowing down Saint Julius Johnson. Johnson went 11-13 from the field in the first period, totaling 27 points. On the other side, the Blue Hawks were able to get 8 players in scoring column in the half. The balanced attack from the Blue Hawks gave them a 50-45 lead heading into half.

The Blue Hawks came out hot in the second half with a 16-4 run. The run featured 8 points from Ryan Clark and 5 from Terrell Butler. The Blue Hawks were able to slow down Jackson's attack in the second, only allowing 14 points. Jackson still led all scorers with 41.

Both Teams saw success shooting from the field, Presentation with 53% and DSU with 61%. The Blue Hawks saw ten of their players score points, four in the double digits. Ryan Clark tallied his fourth double-double of the season with 18 points and 14 rebounds. For the Saints, Quadre Lollis also earned a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

 

A Look Ahead: The Blue Hawks take a brief 12-day break from competition. On December 29-30 they travel to Billings, Mont. to take on a pair of Frontier Conference opponents, Rocky Mountain College and Montana Western.
