MADISON, S.D. – The first edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's and Women's Golfer-of-the-Week was announced Wednesday by the conference office. Zach Miller of Dickinson State (N.D.) and Stephanie Gerber of Viterbo (Wis.) were selected to the first NSAA Golfers-of-the-Week honors.
NSAA Men's Golfer of the Week
Zach Miller – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Sophomore – Dickinson, N.D. – Miller of Dickinson State (N.D.) fired 70 in the first round and 74 second run to finish second in the Bismarck State College (N.D.) Invitational. He recorded a total of 144 strokes in the invitational and finished second as an individual for the Blue Hawks. The team finished fifth in the meet.
NSAA Women's Golfer of the Week
Stephanie Gerber – Viterbo (Wis.) – Senior – Sheboygan, Wis. – At the season-opening meet at Mount Mercy (Iowa) Invitational, Viterbo's (Wis.) Gerber shaved seven shots from round one to round two as she carded 84-77 (161 total strokes) to finish fifth in the 36-golfer field. The senior's 77 helped the V-Hawks record a program record tam score of 321.
Looking Ahead (Men's/Women's)
Viterbo's (Wis.) men's team travels to Winona, Minn. to compete in the two-day invitational – Winona State (Minn.) Invitational – on Sept. 5-6. On the women's side, the V-Hawks will compete in the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational on Sept. 5-6.
Jamestown's (N.D.) men's and women's are scheduled to golf at the North Dakota State Invitational on Sept. 7. On the same day, Waldorf (Iowa) will participate in the St. Thomas (Minn.) dual meet.
Bellevue (Neb.) men's golf team will travel to St. Louis, Mo. to compete in the Lindenwood (Mo.) Invitational on Sept. 8-9.
