FT. DODGE, IOWA – The Blue Hawks competed in a pair of rodeos. In their first rodeo in Fort Dodge, Iowa, the men finished fifth and the women picked up a first place finish. The second rodeo was in Ames, Iowa and the men finished third of ten teams, while the women picked up yet another first place finish. Bobbi Grann won the Women's All-Around title in both rodeos.
At Fort Dodge, Cameron Morman picked up 60 points in tie-down roping. Dalton Rixen recorded 60 points in saddle bronc riding. Morman and Tyler Thorson recorded 10 points each in team roping. Evan Entze notched 80 points in steer wrestling.
In Ames, Morman recorded 50 points in tie-down roping and Thorson picked up 20. Morman won steer wrestling with 145 points and an average time of 9.8 seconds. Rixen won saddle bronc riding with 180 points.
In Fort Dodge, the women picked up 120 points from Kristy Langseth in breakaway roping. She finished second and had an average time of 7.4 seconds. Teddi Schwagler recorded 125 points in goat tying to finish second. Schwagler posted an average time of 16.2 seconds. Bobbi Grann recorded 85 points and finished with an average time of 16.5 seconds. Also scoring points in goat tying, Lacey Grann finished with 30 and Skye Schaper notched 20. Bobbi Grann led the way in barrel racing. She recorded 180 points and posted an average time of 28.95 seconds.
Schaper won breakaway roping in Ames with 145 points and an average time of seven seconds. Bobbi Grann also recorded 75 points with an average time of nine seconds. In goat tying, Bobbi Grann won with an average time of 14.3 seconds. She picked up 180 points. Lacey Grann recorded 85 points with an average time of 15.7 seconds. Schwagler recorded 40 points, while Schaper added 20. Michaela Kathrein picked up 10 points in barrel racing.
The Blue Hawks will be back in action on Friday (Oct. 24) when they travel to Fargo, N.D.
