DICKINSON, N.D. – Dickinson State traveled to Gillette, Wyo. to compete in the Eagles and Jackets invite on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 7 and 8). The Blue Hawks finished with four more national qualifiers.
Dante Carter met the A standard in the men's 800-meter with a time of 1:54.37. Carter tied with The University of Wyoming's (NCAA Division I) top 800 runner Harry Fisher.
The men's distance medley relay met the A standard and finished with a time of 10:23.64. Dustin Sandbak took the first leg before handing off to Nathan Magstadt. Magstadt handed toJonathan Aman. The final leg of the relay was handled by Carter. The medley qualification gives Carter four qualifiers to nationals.
The final men's qualifier was Breyan Miller. Miller met the B standard in the men's 200-meter with a time of 22.21 seconds. He finished second.
For the women, Haley Schaper won the high jump with a mark of 1.65 meters (5-foot-5), which met the A standard.
Brittany Young finished the women's 800-meter with a time of 2:21.8. She missed the B standard by just three-tenths of a second.
Dickinson State will compete at the Bison Open on Saturday (Feb. 15).
