DSU Men's Track Team Wins NSAA Indoor Conference Championship

MOORHEAD, MN-  The Dickinson State University Men's Track and Field Team claimed the North Star Athletic Association Indoor Conference Championship at the Olson Forum on the campus of Cocordia (Minn.) College.

Freshman Tommy Sease was selected as Athlete of the Meet for his efforts on the day. He competed in four events placing in the top 5 in each event. He took 1st in the Men's 400 meter race with a time of 52.29 and pole vault, vaulting 3.20 m (10'6''). He also ran the 4x400 with teammates Jose Chorro, Zelmon Knowles and Josh Reed, placing 2nd with a time of 3:29.74. In his final event, the 60m hurdles he finished 4th with a time of 9.18.

Senior Breyan Miller who was selected as Co-Track Athlete of the Meet won the 60 meter race with a time of 6.97 sec. and the 200 with a time of 22.92.

The Hawks placed 1st and 2nd in the long jump. Junior Ryan Jones took 1st with a jump of 6.62m and Jose Chorro placed 2nd with a jump of 6.48m.

National qualifying athletes will now travel to Geneva, Ohio to compete in the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field meet which is set to begin March 5th.
