Breyan Miller finished in 6th place in the 200 meter dash.
"The sprint races at Nationals are always tough. Anytime you are talking about hundredth and thousands of seconds, obviously anything can happen - whether it's a poor start or a poor finish. I thought he competed hard, I know by his standards he did not do as well as he had hoped. But that is what makes him special is his competitive drive and his willingness to want to get better. His 6th place finish in the 200 meter dash was a decent race, he ran the corner better but just didn't finish as well as he needed. I know he is ready to get after the outdoor season and finish his career off the right way," said Head Track Coach Jace Schillinger.
Whitney Leuenberger just missed the top twenty in the women's shot put.
"I thought Whitney did a really nice job competing in her first Indoor National Meet. Sometimes it can really overwhelming, but I thought she handled her nerves very well. She really came on strong late in the season and has developed a confidence that I know will carry over to the outdoor season," said Assistant Track and Throwing Coach Aric Mines.
The Dickinson State University Men's and Women's Track and Field teams open their outdoor season on March 28th at Black Hills State in Spearfish, SD.
