Miller & Jones Earn NSAA Male Track & Field Athletes of the Week

MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State (N.D.) swept the third edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday.  It was the second straight week that the Blue Hawks had swept a pair of weekly honors.  Ryan Jones was picked as its Field Athlete-of-the-Week, while Breyan Miller was named to its Track Athlete-of-the-Week for his second consecutive week.

Ryan Jones – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Junior – San Bernardino, Calif. – Jones claimed an individual title in Dickinson State's (N.D.) home meet – the Blue Hawk Games.  He won the men's long jump by leaping a measurement of 6.69 meters (21.95 feet), which featured a total of 16 jumpers in the event.  Jones added a fourth-place finish in the men's triple jump with a measurement of 13.69 meters (44.91 feet).

Breyan Miller – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Junior – Avondale, Ariz. – For the second straight week, Miller earned three different first-place finishes in the Dickinson State's (N.D.) home meet – the Blue Hawk Games.  He ran a time of 10.82 seconds to win the men's 100-meter dash.  Miller also added a first-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash after clocking a time of 21.66 seconds.  He anchored the Blue Hawks' 4 x 100-meter relay team that captured the title with a time of 41.88 seconds.

Looking Ahead
Jamestown (N.D.) and Valley City State (N.D.) stays busy as they head to Moorhead, Minn. to compete in the Concordia Twilight meet Tuesday (tonight).  Both UJ and VCSU will be competing in the Al Cassell Relays on Saturday in Jamestown, N.D.

Dakota State (S.D.) swings back in action Wednesday evening as they head to Yankton, S.D. to participate in the Mount Marty (S.D.) Twilight meet.  The Trojans will be sending five men's runners to the 106th Annual Drake Relays on Friday and Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa.

Dickinson State (N.D.) heads to Fort Collins, Colo. Friday to compete in the Colorado State University meet.
