MADISON, S.D. – Dickinson State (N.D.) swept the second edition of the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Men's Outdoor Track & Field weekly honors, announced by the conference office Tuesday. Tommy Sease was chosen as its Field Athlete-of-the-Week, while Breyan Miller was named to its Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
North Star Athletic Association Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week
Tommy Sease – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Freshman – Bismarck, N.D. – Sease accumulated a total of 6,047 points in the men's decathlon, winning the decathlon title at the Northern State Open for Dickinson State (N.D.). He is currently fifth in the NAIA for men's decathlon. Sease placed first in men's 100-meter dash (11.73 seconds), shot put (11.38 meters – 37 feet, 4 inches), 400-meter dash (51.30 seconds), discus throw (37.74 meters – 123 feet, 10 inches) and 1500-meter run (4:46.10).
North Star Athletic Association Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week
Breyan Miller – Dickinson State (N.D.) – Junior – Avondale, Ariz. – Miller earned first-place finishes in three different running events for Dickinson State (N.D.) in the University of Mary Marauder Open. He qualified for the NAIA Nationals in the 100-meter dash after recording a time of 10.49 seconds and the 200-meter dash in 21.45 seconds. Miller also anchored the Blue Hawks' 4 x 100-meter relay for a first-place finish with a time of 42.31 seconds.
Dakota State (S.D.) are taking four runners to the Kansas Relays this weekend, competing in the 4 x 100-meter relay.
Dakota State and Jamestown (N.D.) will travel to Sioux City, Iowa for the two-day premier event – the Sioux City Relays. The two-day meet kicks off on Friday and continues through Saturday.
Dickinson State (N.D.) is scheduled to host their home meet – the Blue Hawks Games – on Friday in Dickinson, N.D. Valley City State (N.D.) is also expected to compete in the DiSU's meet.
